Juli’s practice focuses on family law and civil litigation.

Juli has tried 39 jury trials and numerous bench trials. She enjoys litigating. She has an extensive background in criminal law, especially domestic violence and child abuse. Juli also serves as the Board Chair for the State Bar of Montana Board of Trustees; she has been a trustee since 2013.

In addition to her trial practice, Juli served as the Chief Deputy County Attorney under Yellowstone County Attorney Scott Twito from January 2015 until she left the office in June 2017. As Chief Deputy, Juli supervised 19 attorneys and assisted in supervising 27 staff positions. Juli was responsible for the criminal felony, misdemeanor, and youth divisions of the Yellowstone County Attorney’s Office, as well as the civil dependent neglect division.

Juli practiced in the Yellowstone County Attorney’s Office in Billings for 13 years. She worked in multiple divisions of the office as a prosecutor, including the criminal misdemeanor division, criminal felony division, and the civil dependent neglect division. In the felony criminal division, Juli specialized in the prosecution of violent crimes, especially child abuse and domestic violence. Juli actively worked on legislation involving a number of criminal law proposals and amendments during her time as a prosecutor.

Juli was raised in Billings and graduated from Skyview High School in 1995. Juli attended Gonzaga University and graduated with honors with a BA in Criminal Justice and Sociology in 1999. After college, she worked as a social worker with Child and Family Services in Billings for two years. Juli then returned to school and received her J.D. from the University of Washington School of Law in 2004. During law school, Juli was active in many public service groups and activities and was recognized by her peers as one of the Charles Z. Smith Public Service Students of the Year in 2004.

In her free time, Juli is a certified Jazzercise instructor. She loves to bake, read, travel, golf and spend time with her family. Juli is an avid college football and basketball fan. She enjoys spending time with her lovable English Bulldog, Hamilton.
