Brent R. Cromley in the News

Brent is admitted to practice in Montana courts, federal district courts, the U. S. Circuit Courts for the Federal and Ninth Circuits, the U.S. Court of Claims, and the U.S. Supreme Court. His principal areas of practice are mediation, litigation and special projects.

Brent was born in Great Falls, Montana, and graduated from Dartmouth College with a degree in mathematics. After serving two years with the Peace Corps in India, he returned to Montana to obtain his J.D. degree from the University of Montana.

Brent served in the Montana House of Representatives and the Montana Senate, and is currently on the City Council for the City of Billings. He is a member of the Board of Directors of Riverstone Health, the Yellowstone County Solid Waste Disposal Board, the Yellowstone Adult Resource Alliance, and the Billings Downtown Business Association. Brent is also active in Kiwanis and is a past president of the State Bar of Montana and the Yellowstone Area Bar Association.

Brent's wife, Dorothea, is a Professor of Music (piano) at MSU Billings. They have two sons, the oldest who is CTO, Zappos.com, and the other who is a novelist (The Last Good Halloween, 2013) and professor of English at Kennedy-King City College, Chicago. Brent's youngest is Taya Rose, Ph.D., a Senior Consultant at Booz Allen Hamilton, Washington D.C.

Brent's primary claim to fame is being the only Montana attorney who is also a member of the International Brotherhood of Magicians. He has returned to India on two occasions and was awarded a Distinguished Service Award by the Old Students Association in the village where he had taught, in the state of Andhra Pradesh. Brent's hobbies are being the Dog Whisperer to his two dogs, magic, running and computing.
