Morgan Hoyt practices primarily in the areas of bankruptcy, commercial litigation, construction defect litigation, civil litigation defense, real estate law, construction law, insurance, and liquor licensing. He is a member of the State Bar of Montana and is licensed to practice in both Montana state and federal courts.

Morgan’s bankruptcy practice is predominantly focused on representing creditors. He has experience representing a wide range of different types of creditors, including both secured and unsecured, in cases under chapters 7, 11, 12, and 13 of the Bankruptcy Code. He has been recognized in the area of Bankruptcy Litigation and was named in Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch in 2023. Morgan is currently serving on the board of the Montana State Bar Bankruptcy Section as its secretary as well as being an active member of the Montana State Bar Bankruptcy Section Continuing Legal Education Committee.

Morgan is a Billings native and has a background in small businesses and non-profits. In 2010 he graduated from Montana State University with a BA in Political Science. Prior to law school, he was a program manager at the Human Resource Development Council District IX in Bozeman Montana. His work dealt primarily with low-income housing, LIEAP, and the Gallatin Valley Food Bank. While attending law school, Morgan also earned his Master of Business Administration. During his summers, Morgan interned at Moulton Bellingham. In 2017, Morgan graduated from the Alexander Blewett III School of Law at the University of Montana in Missoula. Upon graduation, he was inducted into the Order of Barristers. He also received the American Bankruptcy Institute Medal of Excellence and was nominated for the American College of Bankruptcy Distinguished Student for the Ninth Circuit.
He is active in his community and currently serves on the board of directors for the Yellowstone Area Bar Association as its secretary. In addition, Morgan is currently serving on the Board of Directors for the Billings Public Library Foundation.

In his spare time, Morgan enjoys spending time with his family, attending the Billings Symphony, Reading, hiking in the Beartooth mountains, and participating in local events. He is proud to live in Montana’s Trailhead and enjoys everything Billings has to offer.
